Educational Consultant
Sarah Clark Wood: Throughout her career as an educator, Sarah has sought to understand and appreciate the individual gifts and needs of students. Her work is guided by a philosophy which drives her to help others realize the value and implications of these individual differences, in addition to equipping them with ways to fully access their potential.
Sarah is certified in Early Elementary Education, carries an endorsement in Gifted Education, and has completed post-graduate studies in special education. Her classroom experiences have included teaching mainstreamed learning disabled and emotionally disturbed students. She has also served as a classroom teacher for gifted students in a cluster grouping.
As a Supreme Court Certified Mediator, Sarah's area of special focus is advocating for children´s best educational interests. Sarah serves in local courts as a truancy mediator, and in this capacity she works with students, parents, schools, and other officials to resolve issues related to school attendance. Sarah consults with parents as an advocate during the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans.
Sarah is a graduate of the University of Richmond, with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and a Masters in Teaching from Virginia Commonwealth University. Sarah is currently completing a Doctorate in Educational Psychology at the University of Virginia.
